A Shift We Are All Living Through
Over the past few years, many of us have sensed that life is not returning to what it once was. It is not simply that the world has changed in outward ways; there is a deeper, quieter truth beneath the surface: something in the structure of reality itself is moving.
This is what I call the Great Repatterning – a deep reshuffling of how life is woven together. It is not just happening to you. It is happening everywhere – in families, in communities, in governments and even in the Earth’s natural rhythms.
It is not a single event but rather a process, one that touches the patterns by which life on Earth has been woven for centuries. Some of these patterns have served us well, others have been distorted, manipulated or left stagnant for too long. The Great Repatterning is the slow but certain unravelling of what no longer fits and the reweaving of something more coherent.
How the Shift is Felt in Everyday Life
For some, the Great Repatterning shows up as a sudden change of direction. Relationships, careers or living situations that once felt stable may come apart quickly, sometimes with no clear explanation. Others may find that long-held beliefs begin to feel less certain; what once seemed obvious or unquestionable begins to soften, making space for new ways of seeing. There is often a sense of “something missing” or “something about to happen” that cannot be named. It is as if an old map no longer matches the ground beneath our feet.
Are you experiencing any of these?
- Old patterns you have lived with for years suddenly fall apart
- Relationships or habits that once felt “normal” may now feel heavy or false
- You might be called to let go of things you once thought you would never release
- At the same time, unexpected openings, connections and clarity can appear
- People around you are making unexpected life changes
- There is a stronger need for simplicity, honesty and rest
- There is less tolerance for manipulation or half-truths in conversations, in the media or even in yourself
- Very old memories or patterns surface for review
- There is a pull towards people, places or activities that feel nourishing
Resetting the Loom
The Earth itself moves through cycles of change. Some are small and pass quickly, others are vast and rare, affecting entire generations. We are in one of these larger cycles now.
Think of it as the resetting of a great loom. The old threads have been stretched, knotted, and in some cases, weakened. Before a stronger cloth can be woven, the loom itself must be reset. This is the work beneath the surface – loosening what has been too tight for too long so the next weave can hold.
This is not a collapse without purpose, it is a careful unbinding, even if it does not always feel that way. The new patterns cannot be forced into place too quickly or they will not hold.
Your Place in the Great Repatterning
No one is outside this shift. Whether you are actively seeking to change your life or simply trying to keep up with the pace of events, you are part of it.
Some people are what I call Pattern Holders. These are the ones who keep steadiness when the world tilts. They may not be on the front lines of visible change, but they quietly maintain spaces of clarity, kindness and stability. Their role is to anchor the field so that others can move without fear of complete collapse.
Others are Pattern Breakers. They step directly into outdated systems or relationships and choose to walk away, creating space for something new. Their actions are often disruptive, but necessary.
Many of us shift between these roles at different times.
Whether you find yourself holding steady or stepping away from the old, the way forward asks for the same care: attention to what is shifting and how you choose to meet it.
How to Navigate This Time
The Great Repatterning is not about rushing to fix or rebuild. It is about paying close attention to what is leaving and what is arriving. Here are some ways to work with it:
- Listen for what feels true – your inner compass is more important than ever. Pay attention to the physical feeling of coherence in your body. Truth often feels steady, even when it challenges you
- Simplify – the fewer tangled threads you carry, the more easily you can move with the changes
- Release with respect – when people, roles or beliefs leave, honour their place in your story and allow them to step out of it. Their departure clears space for what truly belongs now
- Hold space for others – you do not need to drive or solve another person’s journey; sometimes your steady presence is enough
- Stay curious – old patterns often end in ways that make little sense at the time; trust that meaning will come
- Consciously ground yourself – take time in nature, breathe deeply
- Follow the pull toward what feels alive – even small steps matter
We do not control the whole weaving – but we do influence the part we hold. Every choice you make with honesty, kindness and courage adds strength to the bigger pattern we are all a part of.
The Great Repatterning is not here to take from you. It is here to clear what is no longer aligned, so that what is meant for you can finally arrive.
What Lies Ahead
The Great Repatterning will not be over in a year. This is a long arc, but it is already changing how we relate to one another, to our work and to the Earth itself.
We are not moving backwards, nor are we building over the top of what came before. We are returning to something older and truer, a deeper pattern that has always been here beneath the noise e.g. more honest conversations, more time in nature, more moments of real connection.
Even when the threads are loose, the loom holds steady. You are held within it – part of the greater weave still in motion.
A Closing Thought & Something to Help
If you find yourself tired, uncertain or even disheartened at times, you are not alone. This is work that reaches far beyond the personal. Every act of kindness, every choice to stay true, every moment you refuse to add distortion to the field, matters more than you may ever see.
The Great Repatterning is not something happening to us. It is something moving through us – with our consent, our awareness and our care. And in the quiet moments, when the noise falls away, you might just feel it – the new pattern already forming, soft and strong, in the loom of the world.
For some, this is exciting – a chance for something better to be woven. For others, it is unsettling, even frightening. If you feel yourself pulled into uncertainty, it can help to have a simple anchor, do some breathwork or just rest in the field as a way to bring you back to steadiness. Here are a few simple ways to steady yourself if the Repatterning feels overwhelming.
Anchoring Phrase
If you ever feel unsettled or notice fear beginning to rise, you can quietly speak this phrase, either aloud or silently:
“I am steady in the shifting. I am held in the loom.”
Calming Breath
A simple breath sequence to settle the nervous system:
- Inhale through the nose for a count of 4
- Hold gently for a count of 2
- Exhale slowly through the mouth for a count of 6
- Pause softly for a count of 2
Repeat 4–6 times, noticing your shoulders lowering and your chest loosening.
Resting in the Field
Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is simply hold a space of calm in the middle of change. To do this:
- Sit comfortably, hands resting loosely in your lap
- Close your eyes and imagine your awareness dropping into the centre of your chest
- Picture the whole world as a single cloth, breathing with you
- No need to “send” anything. Just rest in the sense that you are part of the whole and your steadiness is a gift to the field
Stay here for as long as feels natural. When you open your eyes, carry that quietness with you into whatever comes next.
“Let come what comes. Let go what goes. Then see what remains.”
